Once the decision has been made to attend culinary school, the next question is which school is the best to attend? Schools can offer differing levels of certification and degree. Although there are rankings for colleges and universities there is no official ranking system for culinary schools. Le Cordon Blue is a well known culinary school that specializes in French cuisine. The first school opened in Paris in 1895. Now there are schools all over the world including North America. Each campus strives to have courses that will meet unique local demands. Courses cover cuisine and pastry making.

The New England Culinary Institute is located in Montpelier, Vermont. It was founded in 1980 with only seven students and now has become one of the well known cooking schools in the nation. These schools represent the most prestigious well knows school available. If location is not an issue then these schools are known to offer an excellent program.
